This exhibition explores the history - and mystery - of these uniquely American structures.
Audiences for this exhibit include
those who love American history,
architectural design and craftsmanship,
and an interest in "community."
A wide range of public programs can be developed to serve the diversity in each host city.
Additionally, the artist is available to speak in conjunction with the exhibition
to audiences interested in specific aspects of this installation.
This exhibition will feature up to 72 museum-quality selenium toned
silver gelatin photographs,
hand-printed and prepared for exhibition by the artist.
Participating venues will have the opportunity to select an installation that best suits their needs.
Prints will range in sizes from 11x14 to 20x24 inches.
Wall labels and introductory text will be provided to all venues.
A video interview with the artist, and tour of some of the meeting houses,
has been produced
by renowned videographer Peter Hoving,
who filmed more than 50 of the NOVA series for Public Television.
The video will be available for public display
in conjunction with the traveling exhibition.
